Limited supplies of DCUK's Anniversary Programme

There are a limited supply of the DCUK 2009 British Championships Souvenir programme/yearbook at a reduced price of £1 plus p/p and the DCUK 30th Anniversary Souvenir Patch at a cost of £2.50 plus p/p. These are now available to purchase on line via DCUK's Merchandising Page.


Launch of the 2010 IPE registration

The registration for the 2010 IPE events is open. Indoor percussion units can sign up through an online registration form. They can sign up for four indoor percussion competitions in Belgium, France and Britain, including the IPE European Championships.


Band Camp introduces clinician Kent Lineberry

Band Camp 2009 are pleased to introduce Kent Lineberry as their guest clinician. Kent serves as the battery caption head for Gateway Indoor Percussion, and has been on staff since 2005. He also served on the percussion staff of the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps from 2000 to 2005, and did a brief stint in 2007.


Pre-order your DVD of the DCE Championships

From today it is possible to pre-order DVDs of the DCE European Championships 2009. All performances have been recorded and will be added to the DVD.

JUBAL EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS

Jubal are the new European champions. The corps won the DCE Open Class, with a difference of nearly one point ahead of the Kidsgrove Scouts. The Senators ended in third place. Click here for the scores.


Jong Jubal European Cadet Class champions

Jong Jubal have won the Cadet Class Finals and are the 2009 DCE European champions. Jong Jubal scored 2 points more than the competition and won gold with 83.60 points. Jong Beatrix took second place, followed by Johan Friso. Confetti beat Jong Avalance and took fourth place.

European drum corps will take the field today for the DCE European Championships in Kerkrade - The Netherlands. Twenty of the finest corps representing Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and The Netherlands are set to perform.

DCE announces judging panels

Drum Corps Europe has announced the judging panels for the DCE European Championships 2009, this Saturday in Kerkrade. Thirteen judges from the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and the United States will jusge the performances in the Open Class Prelims, Cadet Class Finals and Open Class Finals.


Kidsgrove Scouts are the new DCUK Champions

The Kidsgrove Scouts became British Drum Corps Champions in Mansfield yesterday. The corps won the DCUK Open Class, including all captions, with a difference of nearly two points over the Senators, increasing the lead they had on their nearest rivals from the Eastleigh show two weeks ago.


IPE to start European I&E competition

Indoor Percussion Europe (IPE) has announced the 2010 season kick off in Dadizele - Belgium on Saturday February 13th. No less than four IPE percussion events will take place on this day.


Presale DCE Championships closes Monday

The presale of tickets for the DCE European Championships will close Monday (21st September) at midnight. Drum corps fans who use their credit card or PayPal account can order tickets until Wednesday (23rd September).

Regional tv and radio station partners with DCE

The regional tv and radio station L1 in the province of Limburg - The Netherlands becomes a media partner of Drum Corps Europe. TV and radio commercials of the DCE European Championships will be aired on L1 radio and L1 television.


Drum Corps Europe promo posters in Kerkrade

As from today, it will be virtually impossible for people in Kerkrade and the surrounding area to 'escape' from the DCE European Championships. Huge DCE posters (A0 size) will be displayed on 120 billboards at 60 different locations in the city.

Pegasus 'Go back to college' for 2010 season

Alliance staff lead clinic French guard unit

Alliance Winterguard staff members Jason Hawke, Denni Hawke and Helen Tomlin came to Hellemmes - France last weekend for the first Xpression Performance Ensemble clinics. The Xpression staff hired this team for its new 2010 winter programme.


DCE scores on your mobile phone

As of today you can sign up for the DCE SMS Service during the DCE European Championships on 26th September in Kerkrade. As soon as the scores of both the Prelims and Finals are announced, they will be texted to mobile phones via SMS for only 90¢.

Fifth DCA title for the Buccaneers

For the fifth time in a row the Reading Buccaneers were able to scoop up the Open Class title at the Drum Corps Associates Championships in Rochester New York. For the Buccaneers this was a record score.


Report: Kidsgrove take 1st place at Eastleigh

As the Sun dawned on Sunday 6th September it looked as if this could be the first DCUK show day in the British Isles this season with a reasonable chance of avoiding any rain. With the Arklow and Warrington shows both falling victim to torrential down pours I set off towards England's South Coast looking forward to good day of drum corps.


Busy weekend for British Corps

It was a busy weekend, and more specifically a busy Sunday, just gone for all the main protaganists in the UK drum corps scene with shows on both the BYBA and DCUK circuit. Northern Star, Kidsgrove and 37th Kingswood becoming the winners on the day.


Jubal are the new DCN Champions

Jubal are the new Dutch Open Class champions. The corps stripped the reigning champions Beatrix of their throne and claimed almost all captions with only High Auxiliary going to Hilversum. Jong Jubal were also successful and became Cadet Class champions whilst newcomer Con Spirito triumphed in the A-Class.


American educator Clark Gardner to Unik Star

European Indoor Arts Alliance (EIAA) and Unik Star/Xpression from Hellemmes - France will hold a number of clinics during the Unik Star Open House in october 2009. For this event, Unik Star will have an american educator and percusionnist, Clark Gardner.


Field Band Foundation wins business arts award

The winners of South Africa's most prestigious business-arts awards were announced at an event held in Newtown. A highlight on the night came with the announcement of the Chairman's Premier Award which went to the Field Band Foundation and its sponsors.

Dutch clinicians to hold workshops in Italy

Clinicians of the Dutch based company Show & Marching Music will travel to Italy for workshops in October. The clinicians Mark Bogert and Dirkjan van Groningen will run workshops for two Italian bands.


Showband Marum becomes a drum & bugle corps

The Dutch top show band Marum has announced that the band will change into a drum & bugle corps in the next few years. Marum has plans to compete in the DCE European Championships in 2010.


DCE to launch news page in Italian language

The DCE website will soon be extended to include a news page in the Italian language. By adding an Italian page, DCE will now be supporting five languages for its news, namely English, Dutch, German, French and Italian.


Paul Morgan retires from DCE judging

Due to personal reasons Paul will be retiring from DCE judging at the conclusion of the 2009 season. In a statement to the BYBA Communications Chair, after making his plans known to the DCE Education Team, Paul explained the extremely busy calendar this year has made it difficult to dedicate more time to his Family, and that for the 2010 season he will reduce the amount of commitment that he makes as a result. This has been a difficult decision for him to make.


Final regular season weekend for DCA

Court approves Spartans' bankruptcy plan

A federal court has accepted the Nashua Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps' bankruptcy plan to pay debts and reorganize. The corps has not performed this year, as the organisation owed more than $200,000 to creditors â?? an amount that did not include a lapsed $849,000 mortgage on the outfit's longtime home.

It has been more than four months to the date that 700 Indoor Percussion fans were able to enjoy top percussion on Sunday April 5th during the second edition of the IPE European Championships in Roeselare - Belgium. IPE now starts shipping the DVDs of that event.
