DCI moving to Indianapolis in 2008

Drum Corps International is expected to announce that it will move its headquarters to Indianapolis and will host its international championships in Lucas Oil Stadium for a decade beginning in 2008.

Cavaliers take gold medal in Allentown

The Cavaliers took the gold medal in Allentown on Saturday night with a score of 95.550. On Saturday Night, Blue Devils (95.575) bested a field of 11 corps, with only .025 behind The Cavaliers.


Southern Aurora announces Corps Director change

Ian Lyall stepped down from his position as Corps Director of Southern Aurora last week. With regards to this situation the committee sat on Wednesday, the outcome of the meeting was to invite David Pope to take the position, which he accepted. David was previously Corps Director during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.


VK plans November rehearsals for 2007 return

Fund for Amateur Art will be supporting DCE

The Fund for Amateur Art and Performing Arts in The Hague has decided to sponsor the Drum Corps Europe Championships. This fund subsidizes many cultural projects it considers worth sponsoring.

US guard Spectrum attending WGI Euro Regional

DCUK will discuss incorporation of open age corps

Following the successful BYBA Think Tank event, first conceived back in February this year, and held on Saturday 29th July in Leicester, it was recommended that the British Youth Band Association facilitate an open age division within its competition circuit.


DCUK proposes constitutional reform

At the recent meeting of the DCUK Board of Trustees, it was agreed that a proposal that had been presented by the WGUK Board would be put to the membership for consideration. The proposal involves a re-organisation of the charity to provide greater representation for the winter guards.

Cavaliers and Devils separated by .025 in Atlanta

By a narrow margin, the Cavaliers defeated Blue Devils for their second Drum Corps International major regional championship in a row. Taking music general effect, visual performance, visual ensemble and the music ensemble captions, the corps scored 93.025 to Blue Devils' 93.000.


DCI launches 'SOUND Education' program

Just like last year, Drum Corps Europe has had a logo designed for the DCE Championships 2006 in Rotterdam. This time though, the logo is not adorned with the towers of the Sparta stadium 'The Castle', but a typical Rotterdam symbol has been chosen instead.


Cavaliers pulled of a surprise in San Antonio

The Cavaliers pulled off a surprise win in Texas yesterday as they topped the previously undefeated Blue Devils by just more than half a point at the DCI San Antonio Southwestern Championship at the Alamodome. The Cavaliers took the gold medal with a score of 92.550.

Jubal on its way to the United States

The first 25 members of Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps from Dordrecht - The Netherlands are on their way to the United States for participation in the DCI competition. They left early this morning from Dordrecht. The second group (75 people) will leave tomorrow.

Blue Devils bus in accident

About 10.20 AM central time, the O-4 Blue Devils bus got into an accident about two hours north of Dallas as it entered a construction zone. It collided at 10-15 mph with a non-BD semi that stopped suddenly.

Star and Kidsgrove take top honors in Barnsley

VK starts fundraising for return to DCI

SA drumline to perform in the UK and Europe

There have been problems with the final production of the WGUK 2006 finals DVD. Some of these problems can not be fully rectified as it was a live-mix, but over the last few months WGUK has been working with the production company to see how the DVD can be improved.


DCI showdown of the season in Indianapolis

The best-of-the-best will meet head to head this Saturday, July 8th, at the DCI Indianapolis Central Division Championships. For the first time all season, the top three scoring Division I corps up to this point in the season from the West, Midwest and East, will battle it out for top honors at the RCA Dome in downtown Indianapolis.

Distant Thunder takes Division I at BYBA show

Distant Thunder topped Divison 1 at the Colchester BYBA show last Sunday with a score of 648 points, and taking High Brass, General Visual Effect, General Music Effect and Drill and Deportment. 6th Hove Scouts were second with a score of 637 points and took High Percussion.
