Southern Aurora has announced the launch of their new website, the new site is part of the current development continuing at Aurora, and encompasses the wider activity base that they are pursuing. The site will continue to be developed after its initial launch.
6th Hove Scouts have presented their production for the 2007 season: 'A Man Called...'. The music and visual will be inspired by the films of Sergio Leone coupled with the soundtracks of famous movie arranger Ennio Morricone.
The day was due to start at 12pm but due to traffic issues on the M6 the instruments arrived a little later than anticipated. This didn't stop the workshop getting underway though as, following a brief introduction by Chris Jones (High Brass Director), Ian Darrington sat down with the students and High Brass and talked through a whole range of subjects involving playing and performing on a brass instrument.
Northern Star Drum & Bugle Corps from Leeds - UK have appointed Richard Saucedo as the corps' brass arranger for the 2007 season. "Richard brings a whole realm of knowledge and experience to Star's design team and we are incredibly excited to have him writing for for us", said Northern Star's Program Co-ordinator Mark Pickles.
On Sunday, October 22nd, over 300 visitors descended on the Centre Gustave Engrand in Hellemmes, France, for the open house and clinics presented by Showband USA of Hellemmes-Lille. The morning session for percussion and color guard, was led by Sandy Sueur (color guard), Benoît Sueur (battery percussion) and Jérôme Capoen (pit percussion) of Showband USA.

6th Hove will be experimenting with an indoor, full corps production over the winter, based on their 2006 summer production 'Bushido'. For the first time, High Brass will be hosting a workshop for young brass players during the afternoon of the Pyramid Arts Centre performance on 21st October. The event, the first of its kind in the UK, shall take place in the Arts Centre itself and is intended to give young brass players the opportunity to rehearse with the band and later take to the stage during the evening performance.

As of Tuesday October 3rd, the DVDs, CDs and Patches from the DCE European Championships 2006 will be available for order from DCE's online shop. The DVDs and CDs are expected to be delivered at the end of December, the patches are available directly.

The Caballeros Drum & Bugle Corps from Hawthorne - New Jersey, have announced that a trip to Europe for the 2007 Competing Corps has been finalized. The competing corps will tour The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Germany.
A European color guard and indoor percussion organisation has been formed. Drum Corps France (DCF), Winter Guard United Kingdom (WGUK), Color Guard Nederland (CGN) and the Royal Dutch Music Federation (KNFM) have taken the first steps for the new organisation on September 24th, 2006 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

You couldn't have wished for a more exciting finish than displayed yesterday evening during the climax to the DCE Open Class Finals 2006 in Rotterdam. Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps has been crowned as the new DCE European Open Class Champion. It was a closely fought title, as the difference between the champions and the number two, Northern Star, was minimal - 0.05 points. In the Percussion Class, DrumSpirit won for the second year in a row, with Jong Jubal coming out strongest in the Cadet Class.
Today Rotterdam will be the drum corps capital of Europe! Many performing corps, about 1200 drum corps members and lots of drum corps fans in the stand of the Sparta Stadium.

The Executive Director of Drum Corps International, Dan Acheson, has accepted an invitation from Drum Corps Europe to come to Rotterdam this Saturday. This is the first time that the DCI top man will be present in person at a European drum corps event.
A special award for High Front Ensemble will be presented in Rotterdam this Saturday during the Open Class Finals. The award will be presented by the parents of Barry Boer Rookhuiszen.
