The Squires close down
Following the sudden death of their corps director, Robert Gillett, the Squires Drum & Bugle Corps from Crawley - West Sussex had no alternative but to close down. As a result they will sell their equipment. Gillett passed away last month at the age of 41.
The Squires were founded in 1986 and entered the drum corps competition for the first time in 1989, with 53 members. The year 1994 was their most succesful season in the DCUK competition, placing 4th at the DCUK British Championships. Last year, the Squires became third in the Junior Class.
