Minnesota Brass ends Buccaneers winning Streak
The heat was on in Rochester - New York, as corps converged onto Shalen's Stadium. Twenty-one corps participated in yesterday's preliminary event. Each corps showed significant growth this season. Minnesota Brass topped the Prelims competition, ending the Buccaneers' undefeated winning streak.
Minnesota Brass scores 97.73, only three tenths ahead of the Reading Buccaneers (97.43). This is the first time in six years that any corps has defeated the Buccaneers in competition. The Empire Statesmen came in third (95.08). All scores can be found at www.dcacorps.org.
In Class A, four corps managed to make the Open Class Finals: the Govenaires (85.03), Fusion Core (84.95), Carolina Gold (84.13) and Windsor Regiment (77.70). The Open Class Finals will take place today, preceeded by field performances of many alumni corps like the Freelancers, Bridgemen and the Crusaders.
