IPE manual is geared towards DCE
Indoor Percussion Europe has presented a new manual. The judging system in the manual now better reflects the judging system of Drum Corps Europe.
For its contests, IPE hires the judges from Drum Corps Europe. To ensure that all judging is level on a European scale, IPE has chosen to base the judging manual on DCE's system. For the judging panel, this means more consistency for both summer and winter seasons instead of working with different systems.
Instructors of associations which are active in both summer and winter seasons will benefit from this approach, as they will essentially only have to work with one judging manual rather than with several. Contestants in the circuits of DCE, DCN, IMBA, DCUK, the German Open, MMF and IPE can count on the exact same terms and principles.
Drum lines should not worry about drastic changes. The regulations will not change from last season's. The new IPE Adjudication Manual can be downloaded from www.indoorpercussioneurope.org.
