The Company programme 2011: 'COLD'
In the summer of 2011 The Company will present a production entitled 'COLD'. Since the close of the season at The BYBA Championships in Stoke there has been plenty of work going on behind the scenes at The Company to prepare the corps for their second season in competition.
The Company describes the new show programme as follows: "Sit back and wrap up warm as we explore the images and music that we believe embrace the state of being COLD. Join us as we turn up the heat as we chill you to the bone and take you on a journey of everything COLD."
The design team were first to meet and start the ball rolling on trying to find a show to follow the success of the last production 'Expect the Unexpected'. The management sat down to thrash out the plans for the coming year including the when and where the corps will be going and the logistics involved with field a corps for the Summer.
In late October The Company Percussion Ensemble held their first rehearsal and took the early tentative steps into the world of indoor percussion. The ensemble will perform an original piece written by Andrew Markworth called 'Omnious'. The percussion ensemble will enter the IPE Concert Class. "Eventually we would love to field a marching indoor drum line", Caption Manager Mark Pickles commented. "But we feel the time was a little too soon for us."
