Ireland's Boyle Marching Band at Warrington
Boyle Marching Band from Boyle, Co. Roscommon, Ireland will be travelling to the UK to take part in the Drum Corps United Kingdom contest in Warrington on 18th July.
Boyle Marching Band was formed in 1992 by the town Chamber of Commerce, and is now run by the Boyle Marching Band Parents Association. The main band itself consists of 27 members, from age seven to twenty-four.
Over the last eighteen years the band has competed in IMBA competitions on a regular basis, and it has also participated in street parades all over Ireland. The band consists of accordions, tin-whistles, percussion and colour guard. The band last competed in the UK in 2005, in Midsomer Norton European Championships, where they achieved joint first in the intermediate class.
Their 2010 show is themed on some of ABBA's most popular hits, such as Mamma Mia, and The Winner Takes It All. The band are currently taking a years break from competing in the IMBA league and are delighted to be given the opportunity to compete in a DCUK competition.
Dagenham Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps have made the decision to pull out of the DCUK Warrington Show on the 18th July. This is, in part, due to holidays and absences.
