New drums for Showband Marum
Last week, Showband Marum began to use their new percussion instruments. The instrumentation was supplied by Vancore Percussion Instruments from Joure - The Netherlands.
The showband has purchased five snares, two tenors, five bass drums and two marimbas. The colour of the instruments (anthracite carbon) matches Showband Marum's uniform colours. During the presentation, the participants received an explanation from Martijn van der Kolk from Vancore about how the drums are manufactured.
During the presentation, Chairman Piet van Houten announced more news. In agreement with the community, Showband Marum has found a new practice location, an old gym. The association will have to almost double the size of the space and adapt it so that there is no nuisance for local residents.
Finally, Van Houten reported that the showband will get a new truck. The current vehicle is no longer adequate and costs too much to run. The new truck meets international standards and offers more comfort and convenience.
