BYBA Championships move venue
The British Youth Band Association (BYBA) has announced that the 2010 BYBA National Championships will be held at Crewe Alexandra Stadium in Crewe - Cheshire. The stadium is the home of Coca Cola Football League Two Team, Crewe Alexandra Football Club.
At the end of 2009, BYBA's National Championships Working Party investigated possible new venues for the 2010 Championships. Throughout the past six months, a shortlist was created of potential stadiums, with the sole aim of finding a venue that would be able to give all facilities to run the event.
The Crewe Alexandra Stadium is located five miles from the M6 and has a high main stand with 6,000 seats. Although the stadium is bigger than previous years, the enclosed design gives the spectator a feeling of being closer to the performing units and gives the opportunity to view all of the performances at an increased height.
