DCE and BYBA become strategic partners

Publish Date: 02 Dec 2006 - 941 views

After another successful DCE European Championships in which BYBA Member Corps demonstrated their clear dedication to the drum corps experience, the boards of DCE and BYBA were unanimous in agreeing that the next steps from a strategic perspective was to work closer together to ensure that more members can enjoy the experience that both organizations have to offer.

The important element of Education Provision is strong within the BYBA portfolio, and this is clearly seen with the wide and varied events and competitions that are catered for, including things like the Festival of Fun and Music, in which a whole week is provisioned with some of the Worlds top names to give both marching bands and drum corps alike educational training on all areas of music and marching.

Commenting on the new strategic partnership, Marcel Matthijsse, Chairman of the Drum Corps Europe Board says: "We have seen the British Youth Band Association develop over a number of years into an environment that clearly aligns with our own thoughts for the continuation and extension of all member corps well being and experiences. BYBA has a lot of experience within the area of education and our partnership includes the possibilities for corps in Europe also to use their knowledge. And as more and more drum corps style units emerge, it is hoped that we can provide them with this knowledge also. I am extremely pleased to announce this collaboration and to add BYBA to our prestigious list of strategic partners.

Over the coming weeks and months discussions will be taking place that will shape the whole of the European environment into something truly remarkable now that so many like minded organizations are striving for common goals together."

Tony Patrick, Chairman of BYBA comments; "This new Strategic Partnership will allow BYBA and DCE to explore many new and exciting opportunities that will be designed to ensure that all our members will have a place where they can extend their already wonderful experiences. I have been extremely impressed with Marcel and his teams dedication to providing the ultimate Drum Corps arena on which competitors can do battle across the whole of Europe, and equally pleased that BYBA has now been recognized as an organization priding itself on the Educational experiences of all it's members, including the many Drum Corps Style Bands that we have within our membership. I look forward to forming Strategic Partnerships with other like minded organizations such as we have done here with DCE where the common good of the member is the driving factor."
