forthcoming 2007 season. These plans include a trip to Winter Guard
International in Dayton.
Firstly we will be working with a new design team for the forthcoming
2007 winter season. Ex director of Oracle Winterguard, William Chumley
will be heading the team, assisted by Jennifer House and Jean Coulet du
Gard. Also look out for future announcements on additional UK staff for
the World guard.
After another very successful and enjoyable Europe-based season in
2006, Mayflower will be returning to compete in WGI in 2007 (where it
will be focusing on becoming an Independent World finalist once again)
as well as in WGUK. This will be Mayflowers 6th trip to America to
compete in the World Championships in Dayton Ohio. They will also be
competing in both The WGI European Regional, and the New England Power
Regional.
The guard is very close to securing funding which will help towards
offering members the opportunity to compete at WGI at a massively
discounted cost. Please keep checking the website for further
announcements. The guard will also be making announcements shortly on
bursaries that will be available for marching members to still further
reduce their costs.
In 2007 Mayflower will be fielding 4 competitive guards. In addition to
the World guard, they will have guards in the A, Junior and Cadet
Class. Show announcements will follow in the next few months via the
web site.
More information on the Mayflower membership, please visit the Mayflower website. Mayflower will begin its season on October 8th at De La Salle School, Basildon, Essex 10am till 6pm.
