New DCE Competition Manual is ready
The DCE Competition Manual version 6.0 is ready for download. Besides a change in field set up, like announced last year, there are no major changes in the contest rules (compared to the previous version 5.1). The judging manual includes several changes though.
From 2006 and beyond, the Color Guard caption will be included in the total score. In previous years, color guard was judged, but the score of that caption wasn't added to the total score. Another change can be found in the boxes on the judging sheets. This change will make it easier for judges to rate the corps.
The Cadet Class and Percussion Class have new box criteria, which will result in higher scores compared to last year. "While 100 points is the maximum score, it's odd to see the best Cadet Class corps scoring only 50 or so", chief judge Adriaan de Kruiff said. "It's obvious that, because of this change, scores in the Cadet Class and Percussion Class can't be compared to Open Class anymore."
