Northern Star Group launches Star Academy
Northern Star Group from Leeds has announced the launch of Star Academy. The internationally renowned performing arts organisation is launching Star Academy to give young people performing arts skills that will enable them to become world class performers themselves.
Star Academy opens its doors for the very first time on Saturday March 4th at Lowtown Junior School, Pudsey, Leeds. Any children aged between 8 and 14 are very welcome to come along and learn a wide range of skills ranging from brass, percussion, woodwind through to dance.
In the weeks running up to the launch Star Acadamy director Daveena Parsons and several of her talented staff are making a whistle stop tour of local schools to spread the word. "The local schools have been great and clearly recognise the potential there is for their children to come to the Star Academy and improve themselves", said Daveena. "The children that attend the Academy will not just learn about music and performing, but they will also learn skills that will help them throughout the rest of their lives."
The launch of Star Academy confirms Northern Star Groups commitment to youth and the development and education of young people. Star Academy sits alongside Northern Star Drum & Bugle Corps, the groups open-age, European powerhouse drum corps.
