Yokohama Scouts take DCJ title 2006
The Yokohama Scouts are the new Champions of the Drum Corps Japan Championships. Seven corps participated in the competition. Last year's Champions, the Yokohama Inspires, became the runners-up.
Yokohama appears to be the drum corps city of Japan, with two corps dominating the competition for several years now. The Inspires took the High Percussion and High Brass awards, but came in third on visual. They scores 58.7 points, 0.4 points behind The Scouts. The DCJ scores are based on a maximum score of 70 points.
Five judges from Drum Corps International judged the DCJ competition (Music Effect: Joe Allison, Visual Effect: Curt Costanza, Brass Performance: Gino Cipriani, Percussion Performance: Martin Griffin, Visual Performance: Kyle Miller).
