First drum corps 'Podcast' online
A recent phenomenon in technology and the internet is that of podcasting. Podcasts (taken from 'iPod' and 'broadcast') are radio-style shows regarding various topics, genres, and styles - now including drum corps.
Instead of broadcasting them, they are saved in MP3 format and posted on the internet for anybody to download and listen to when they please. With the advent of Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds, it is even possible to automatically download podcasts as they are released and transfer them directly into your media player. Up until now, there has not been a podcast dedicated to drum & bugle corps. That has changed.
Kevin Gamin and DCP News have begun a weekly podcast about the drum and bugle corps activity. The podcast is currently titled "This Week In Drum Corps" and will be made available every Monday for your listening pleasure. Right now, it covers drum corps news and upcoming events but we plan on expanding the podcast to include interviews with drum corps personalities, reports on recent shows, personal commentary on various issues affecting the drum corps activity, and listener e-mails.
If you would like to download and listen to this podcast, go to kevingamin.libsyn.com. There will be a new podcast available each week in the web log kept there for the show. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed for the blog, which is kevingamin.libsyn.com/rss.
