A big win for The Senators at first IPE contest
The indoor drum line of The Senators from Eastleigh won the International Marching Percussion Class held in Doornik, Belgium yesterday at the first contest of Indoor Percussion Europe. The Brits beat the competition by twelve points.
The Senators are back. Not as a drum & bugle corps, but as a very convincing indoor percussion unit. The group had little difficulty in winning the International Marching Percussion Class. They scored 72.83 points.
The battle for second place was tough. DrumSpirit won silver (60.83), closely followed by Unik Star (59.50) and European X (59.17). DNG was last in line for this Class yesterday and came fourth with a score of 47.0. New Spirit (50.25) won the Concert Class, with Black Music Show (47.25) a close second. New Event Corps was the only participant in the European Marching Percussion Class (48.17).
The next IPE contest is on 13th March in Burgess Hill - UK. Four British participants will enter this contest.
