Heartliner Drum Corps ceases activities
Heartliner Drum Corps is closing down. The German corps which participated in the drum corps competition for three years has had so many setbacks in such a short time that the administration sees no possibility for the corps to continue.
Financially, Heartliner has always found it difficult to make ends meet. The show program for 2011, 'HEART-ROCK', was arranged to suit the taste of a wide audience so that they would be able to put on more paid shows. However, it was recently revealed that the sponsor of the corps, a large company, has pulled out. In addition, half of the horn line has now quit unexpectedly.
The board of Heartliner say they sincerely regret having to make the decision to close the corps down. In the next few weeks they will explore the options for keeping the association alive, perhaps in a different capacity.
