Madison Scouts find Dutch sponsor
The Dutchman Ton Stam, who lives in America, has agreed for his company to sponsor the Madison Scouts. All profits of his new store of 'Chocolaterie Stam' will go to the Madison Scouts.
The former Beatrix member was one of the first Europeans to march in a DCI top corps in the early 80s and he now wants to give something back to the Scouts. Chocolaterie Stam has a large number of stores in four American states.
The unique aspect of the sponsor formula is that the new store in Middleton, Wisconsin, which is yet to be opened, will donate its entire profits to the Madison Scouts. Now I want to give back to the organisation in the best way I know how," says Stam. "The Madison Scouts meant a lot for me personally and I want to make
sure that opportunity exists for the next generation of Scouts."
The store is being prepared for its launch by several former members of the Madison Scouts, from painting to sorting the electrics and from plumbing to contracts. The store will open its doors mid-November.
