Unik Star 2009: 'Pinball, The Lure of the Silver Ball'
The staff of Unik Star Percussion Ensemble (Hellemmes - France) has announced the theme of their 2009 production: 'Pinball: The Lure of the Silver Ball'. The show, with a pinball machine as the main theme, is composed with the music of Coldplay and The Who.
With the music pieces 'Clocks', 'Viva la Vida', 'Tommy' ('Pinball Wizard') and the Coldplay ballad 'Fix You', Unik Star will bring their show to the Color Guard Netherlands circuit, and the Indoor Percussion Europe competitions in Belgium and France.
After the success of last year's programme, Unik Star haven't changed their winning team of InCorps arrangers and designers. Erwin Van Gemert (arranger drumline - former member of Boston Crusaders), Bruce Vrancken (arranger front ensemble - former member of Blue Devils) and Robin Bogert (drill designer - caption head visual of Jubal) have gathered their talents to create a new show. These three professionals were chosen by Unik Star to help the unit taking the next step into the future.
Pierre Lignée (external instructor since 2005 for Unik Star) will bring his expertise for the front ensemble for keyboard technique. Erwin Van Gemert and Robin Bogert will also visit the group to tune up the show and choregraphy.
