DCUK to adopt DCE Competition Manual for 2007
DCUK have announced that they will be adopting the DCE Competition manual for 2007. This decision was announced by DCUK after consultation with the management of DCE at the European Conference which took place in Brussels last weekend and clearly shows the Drum Corps United Kingdom's commitment to a unified Drum Corps activity throughout Europe.
While there might be subtle regional variations, the manual developed by DCE provides another fantastic addition to plans for the drum Corps activity being facilitated by a resurgent DCUK.
Furthermore, it is planned that a joint working party will be assembled with DCE and other European federations in the new year whose goal will be to produce an updated version of the competition manual which it is hoped will be adopted for the 2008 season by all of the national member federations.
In order to ensure this process acts in the best interests of our members, DCUK will be announcing a series of 'Corps Directors College' days during the early part of 2007 to facilitate feedback, training and familiarisation with new systems and processes.
"This is a massive step forward for DCUK", commented Chris Jones. "We do not under-estimate the impact this will have on our membership, but we are committed to working with them in order to assist with the change-over to this new system to ensure a smooth and positive transition."
