Kidsgrove withdraw from DCE Championships
The Kidsgrove Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps have announced that they will not be attending the 2006 DCE Championships in Rotterdam this year. This is due to unforeseen financial difficulties that the corps has been put under over the last few weeks. The Kidsgrove Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps have announced that they

year. This is due to unforeseen financial difficulties that the corps
has been put under over the last few weeks.
Many attempts have been made to secure the finance however the in the
end the main priority had to be the long term future of the corps
within the Kidsgrove Scout Group.
The whole of the Kidsgrove Scouts
are extremely upset that we will not be performing at the
Championships. "We have a wonderful relationship with DCE and have
enjoyed the many events we have taken part in since 2003", corps
coodinator Rob Swindells said. "We wish the whole DCE team a very
successful championships in 2006 in what will be a fantastic spectacle,
we also wish every corps competing the best of luck for their
performances on the day."
The corps will endeavour to return to DCE for the 2007 Championships.
As for the Kidsgrove Scouts of 2006, they will rehearsing as hard as
ever and they will look forward to the DCUK Championships in Burton
where expectations of the whole corps will be extremely high.
