Drum Corps International will broadcast its World Championship
television program on ESPN2 for the second year this September. The
television event is the second prime-time broadcast of the program on
commercial television, and will be available to more than 88 million
households.
The two-hour program is scheduled to air on Tuesday, September 5, 2006.
Additionally, the program will be rebroadcast later in the year as two
one-hour specials. NAMM, the International Music Products Association,
is again the presenting sponsor of the DCI on ESPN2 program.
The move of the broadcast in 2005 to ESPN2 was designed to raise
general public awareness of the drum corps activity, which fits
perfectly with NAMM's intent to reinforce the value of quality music
education.
