Different technique to determine the order of Prelims

This year, the order of the performances during the DCE Prelims will be determined differently from last year. The order will partly be based on the contestants' results last year.

Last year, both European and American judges reported that a complete mix of all the Open Class participants can cause difficulties for the judges when there are many contestants. In view of the fact that the number of Open Class corps teams has risen from 11 last year to 19 this year, Drum Corps Europe has decided to use a different technique to determine the order of the performances.

We will look firstly at the results obtained at the DCE Championships 2005. Corps who did not participate last year, have been added to the list on the basis of results obtained in their national competition. The 19 corps have subsequently been divided into four groups, as follows (in each group, the teams have been listed alphabetically):

GROUP A - from 9.00 hours (9 am)
DAP
DIO
Southwest Union
Willem Eggert

GROUP B - from approx. 10.10 hours (10.10 am)
6th Hove Scouts
Distant Thunder
Fidele Vogelsanger
Jong-Holland
Strängnäs

GROUP C - from approx. 11.30 hours (11.30 am)
Black Knights
Federatieband
Juliana
Starriders
Wölper Löwen

GROUP D - from approx. 13.15 hours (1.15 pm)
Beatrix
Jubal
Kidsgrove Scouts
Northern Star
Senators

In order to determine the order as objectively as possible, lots will be drawn within each group. We will shortly be announcing the date for this draw, which you will able to follow via the DCE website.
