SDCA circuit features over 20 shows
The Small Drum Corps Association (SDCA) has planned more than 20 contests for this summer in different parts of the United States. The association of small corps is still expanding.
The SDCA season will start as early as 12th May with a contest in Emlenton, - Pennsylvania. The season will run until 16th October. Not all contests have been confirmed yet, and a number of locations still have to be filled in. The SDCA is now active in the Midwest of the United States and in Southern California. The competition on the East Coast is still under development.
The organisation believes that there is a market for small corps, and it wants to offer a platform for this. Corps participating in SDCA competitions usually have between 10 and 30 blazers. The SDCA does not have guidelines for the number of guard members. For percussion, corps are advised to consider the acoustics.
