Rhythm X member joins European X this season

European X is not exclusively 'European' this year. One of the members of the Dutch
indoor drum line is de American David Oriente, a member of the top drum line
Rhythm X.
Oriente won the DCI Individuals in
2009. He will be arriving in the Netherlands this Wednesday and
will then be a part of the snare line of European X. It is expected that more
members of Rhythm X will be joining its European counterpart in the years to
come.
An American influence can also be perceived at programme level. The new show of European X, 'Jump... Bounce... Boing!' was written
by a group of Dutch and American writers. Craig Dunn, Erik de Vries, Justin Coughlin
and Martijn de Jong have worked on the production in close cooperation for the
past six months. Craig Dunn and Justin Coughlin were present during the
rehearsals of European X in January, and Dunn will be coming back to the
Netherlands the week before the CGN Finals.
The show 'Jump... Bounce... Boing!'
is about Newton's Third Law: action-reaction. The performances include 'Jump' by
Van Halen, 'Alice in Wonderland' by Pogo, and 'Out of Space' by The Prodigy. The
premiere of the show is on 18th February during the CGN contest
in Wageningen.
