Northern Star crowned BYBA Champions 2004

September 18th 2004 was a historic date in the history of Northern Star. After 10 years of competing in the British Youth Band Association the corps were finally crowned BYBA champions.

For the first time, Drum Corps Europe will have embroidery patches available of the DCE Championships. During the Championships 2004, corps members and fans can buy a patch at the DCE helpdesk in the stadium.


Judging team for DCE Championships announced

The judging team for the DCE Championships 2004, next week in The Hague - The Netherlands has been announced. An exprienced international team of American and Dutch judges will rank and rate the performances.

Here is a show report from Brass Explosion 2004, thought it would be nice with the build up to Finals. I have written this purely from a spectators view point and that no offence is intended to anyone! I was there all day and watched all the bands/corps and had a top quality view high up, just left of the 50 yard line.


Review: DCUK Corby show

September 12, 2004 - There was definitely an Autumnal feel in the air as I arrived at DCUK show in Corby. It was soon clear that a strong wind, which sent my hat disappearing across the back field, was going to give the corps a few problems. But at least the threatening rain clouds were holding off. Unfortunately I missed a number of the earlier corps, arriving just in time for the last A-Class corps Phoenix Coventry.

Black Knights start electronic newsletter

The Black Knights Development Team has been working extremely hard on broadening the knowledge people have of The Black Knights and the drum corps activity as a whole. One of the ventures we have recently embarked upon is the setting up of an electronic newsletter of which the first edition is soon to be issued.


DCE commercial on air again

Drum Corps Europe will again broadcast a TV commercial to announce the DCE Championships 2004. The commercial will be aired for the next two weeks on the regional television channel 'TV West'. The DCE Championships will be held on Saturday, September 25 at The Hague - The Netherlands.


Jubal tops DCE show Dordrecht

Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps has topped the second DCE show in Dordrecht - The Netherlands. Juliana came in second. It was a hot night with a lot of great shows.


DCA regular season ended, Finals coming up

The 2004 regular season has come to end with victories by the Caballeros and Empire Statesmen last weekend, setting the stage for a most exciting championship finale. The Prelims and Finals will take place this weekend.

Bridgemen Alumni Corps announces Open House

The DCI broadcast this weekend

This weekend, many TV stations around the USA will be airing the DCI broadcast, recorded earlier this month in Denver. Tom Blair, longtime director of the DCI broadcast, put together a cool preview video from this year's broadcast, featuring the Phantom Regiment.


'Youth Education the Arts' moves

Youth Education in the Arts has completed the move to its new headquarters in Allentown - Pennsylvania. Thanks to the City of Allentown and The Allentown Economic Development Corporation,The Musselman Family and a $400,000 grant from The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, YEA! is now operating from a 13,000 square foot building.

Cavaliers are World Champions 2004

The Cavaliers are the World Champions of 2004. During the Finals competition, the Cavies beat the Blue Devils with 0.175 points, resulting in a winning score of 98.700. Spartans won the Division II/III Grand Finals with 96.550.

Beatrix returns to the USA

Almost 30 years after its first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in 1975, Beatrix Drum & Bugle Corps has set off for its sixth trip to the North-American continent. In 1975, the corps traveled to the southwestern part of Canada, where the first encounter with the drum corps phenomenon took place.
