The video service Video Vault, a partnership between DCE and CGN, has made the first webcast for a third party. For five days, the International Cup of the World Baton Twirling Federation was broadcast live.
Drum Corps Europe has decided to terminate their cooperation with the World Band Competition in Malaysia. DCE believes that the agreements made were not respected and therefore unfortunately feels forced to withdraw the Licenced Partnership of the organisation.
The now familiar DCE Document Manager will cease to exist. It will be replaced by the DCE Dashboard which, in addition to the management of jury files, will have several extra features and will serve as a central “ticket office” for corps, judges and the organisation.
Brian Yothers leaves Drum Corps Europe. He has been the Adjudication Manager for DCE in the last two years. Brian will return to the United States.

This year, the DCE European Championships once again have their own flashy logo to draw attention to the event. As in previous years, artist Peter Franken drew the design that will feature on the website, patches and champion’s flags.
From this season Kevin Morgan, Master of Ceremonies at IMBA events will be covering IMBA events for the DCE Facebook page. He will post text, photo and video updates on competition days. Last Saturday Kevin did a pilot in Arklow where the first IMBA show of 2013 took place.

DCE judges Marco Harder and Wil Bijl travelled to Asia again last week to work with the Asian judges to study the DCE Competition Manual in more depth. Various circuits in Asia use the DCE judging system for their competitions.
The DCE website is back online. The website was down for most of the day due to performance issues. The DCE IT team worked hard to improve the performance.

Ticket sales for the DCE European Championships, on Saturday 28th September in Kerkrade - The Netherlands, are going faster than ever. After sections A and B, section C of the grandstand is now filling up as well.
The DCE judges held their annual Judges College this weekend Saturday and Sunday 18th-19th May at the Showband Calypso Clubhouse in Zwevegem, Belgium. Bob Thomas (DCE Education Director) led the session which was attended by judges and staff from Ireland, England, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
The European drum corps season will start next week in Roosendaal - The Netherlands with the first DCN show. However, the European judges have already started their summer season. This weekend they have come together in Belgium for the yearly Judges College.

The ticket sale for the DCE European Championships has been postponed. At the start of the ticket sale, the website received too much traffic which caused the server to go down.
The ticket sales for the DCE European Championships will start on 1st May. However, ten people will not have to order tickets, because Drum Corps Europe is giving away ten of the best tickets!
From now on, visitors of the DCE European Championships will get a free programme booklet. Spectators will no longer pay extra for the magazine with information about the participants and their shows. The ticket prices remain the same.
The Staffordshire Knights will be participating in the DCE European Championships again this year. The corps replaces its compatriot The 6th.
Con Spirito from Joure will be present at the DCE European Championships this year. The corps replaces the Wölper Löwen who previously stated that they would not be able to compete this year.
Drum Corps Europe and Color Guard Netherlands present a new media platform: The Video Vault. A media team will provide multimedia productions of the CGN Championships and the DCE European Championships, including a live webcast, an online video platform in HD and DVD productions.
Color Guard Netherlands and Drum Corps Europe will be cooperating in the area of new media. The two organisations are working on an ambitious plan to improve the way in which fans can access media. The plan will be presented on 11th March.
In its latest issue, the online magazine Drum Corps World focuses on the DVD of the DCE European Championships 2012. DCE is pleased with the worldwide attention.
The popularity of Drum Corps Europe on social media is still growing considerably. More than 2,500 fans now follow DCE news updates on Twitter.
As in previous years, a number of drum corps fans who ordered the DCE Championships DVD complimented the quality of the 3-camera recording this year. One of the responses was that the DVDs DCE has produced of the 2012 Championships are "the best ones yet".
The online team of Drum Corps Europe has expanded. Mark Gjaltema will be reporting for DCE on German drum corps affairs. This will be done in a multimedia way.
Drum Corps Europe is moving to Amsterdam. That is, the server running the website and the Document Manager will soon be located in the Dutch capital. The speed of the website will therefore increase considerably for European users.

The DVDs of the DCE European Championships 2012 are almost ready. Shipping of the first batch is scheduled for the first weekend of January.
The 'tour' that was recently undertaken by DCE representatives â??â??to meetings of partner organisations and corps was very successful. DCE board members attended meetings in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Mark Long is the newest staff member on the ICT team at Drum Corps Europe. He will work with Rob Beeren on expanding and improving DCE's website. DCE is happy to have Mark on board.
The partner organisations of the European Music Games will meet next month for the annual meeting on the European drum corps season. The meeting will take place on the 15th of December in the corps home of Showband Calypso in Zwevegem.
The DCE website has a new feature. All corps participating in the European Music Games have been placed onto one Google Map.
Representatives of Drum Corps Europe will be making their way to meetings of partner organisations DCN, DCUK and IMBA in the coming weeks. The corps will be able to ask DCE about topics related to DCE and the DCE Championships.
