Beatrix plans European tour
Beatrix Drum & Bugle Corps will start their first European tour this summer. Among other things, the corps from Hilversum is participating in the DCE certified show in the French town of Quiberon. Initially, the plan was to travel to the US, but in September last year Beatrix announced that organising an American tour was not wise at this moment. They then announced their intention to tour Europe. The European tour will last from 17th to 26th August, and includes a DCE contest, paid performances, clinics, training courses and of course some free time for sightseeing and other leisure activities in various cities.
On Saturday 18th August, the corps will participate at the show of Marching Music France. "It is great to see that a club like Beatrix intending to organise a European tour and promoting themselves this way in front of the DCE certified organisations", states Rob Beeren of Drum Corps Europe. "We hope that this step that Beatrix has taken will be followed by more corps entering European contests outside of their own countries."
The people at Marching Music France are also excited. "We are very much looking forward to welcoming Beatrix in the MMF competition," states Marching Music France. "We'd like to thank the management of Beatrix and DCE for their support."
A few days of the tour have yet to be filled in, negotiations are still in progress for this.
