Black Knights Rock Gravesham
July 5th and 6th saw a busy weekend of local promotion for the corps as the Black Knights brought their brand of entertainment to The Northfleet Carnival and Gravesham Councils Big Day Out Plus event.
July 5th and 6th saw a busy weekend of local promotion for the corps as the Black Knights brought their brand of entertainment to The Northfleet Carnival and Gravesham Councils Big Day Out Plus event.
The corps were fortunate enough to secure a float for the carnival meaning that they did not need to march the 2 mile route and instead could play some additional pieces as well as music from their 2008 production that were well received by the thousands of viewers that lined and danced along at the roadside.
Sunday's event was part of the larger Maritime festival with performances throughout the day by the local Sea Cadet band as well as the Black Knights.
Rus Rogers from the Black Knights Development Team commented:
"These events have enabled us to get out there and show people what we are about and that being part of the activity of drum corps is a great deal of fun. We've distributed thousands of flyers this weekend so people know who we are and what we do.
Local promotion is a vital part of ensuring that there is a Black Knights in years to come and events like these serve our goal of growing the organisation, both in membership and notability."
The Black Knights would like to thank Lyndsay Thompson and Brian Tourle from Gravesham Council and Dave Taylor from the Northfleet Carnival committee for the opportunity to perform.
