Former drum major Madison Scouts passes away
The Madison Scouts lost a valued brother last Monday. Alfred James 'Fred' Niccolai, 35, of Kenosha, died of of an apparent heart ailment at his home. Fred was born in Kenosha on October 21, 1969. He marched in the Madison Scouts from 1987 to 1991.
Fred spent four years as a baritone and was drum major his age-out year. As was his nature, Fred liked to help people, which led to his decision to become a police officer for the Kenosha Police Department. Fred lived in Kenosha his entire life and was a graduate of Gateway Technical College's police academy in 2000. Fred began spending his vacation time driving for the Scouts in 2001.
Memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
