George Hopkins doesn't regret the use of voice

Publish Date: 30 Nov 2007 - 700 views

Director George Hopkins doesn't regret the use of vocals during Cadets' show of 2007. In his 'Hopsblog' he explains why the question to use voice or not isn't relevant when putting together a show.

"Last year provided an experience that I can never duplicate for the members, and in 2008... well, the decision was not about voice, or not voice...", Hopkins explains on his blog. "It was about putting together a show that will challenge the members, educate the members, and thrill audiences. If we need narration, then we do it. If we need a vocal choir group, we do it, and if we need 12 french horns, we find the money to do it."

The Director of The Cadets promises that the 2008 show will be fun. "It has been a tough show to put together. I have tried, with the crew to spend all of the time I can. But, running this place, and having some kind of life, and working with so many personalities, let's just say there is not enough time in the day."

On 8th-9th December the corps will be learning 90 seconds of 'An American Elegy' and 90 seconds of 'Nitro'. "We will be underway."
