37th Kingswood to compete at BYBA competitions
The 37th Kingswood Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps are pleased to announce their return to the British Youth Bands Association circuit as their main competing activity for 2007. As part of the corps development plans in 2006, they have been planning to return to BYBA for the 2007 season.
Kevin Gannaway-Pitts, 37th Kingswood's Corps Director comments "We would like to point out that the decision made to return to BYBA does not reflect in anyway with the reorganisation of DCUK. We continue to remain committed to DCUK and when the final proposals are released to the drum corps membership, we will make a decision in terms of our continued commitment to the drum corps circuit."
"At this point in time we would like to wish the new DCUK Board all the best in applying the new direction for the drum corps community. As for our return to the BYBA circuit, we look forward to taking a full active role in Division 1 with our cadet unit also appearing along side the senior corps at various shows in 2007. The organisation looks forward to contributing to the BYBA activities and forming new friendships with the membership associated to BYBA."
Commenting on the news, Mark Nicholson, BYBA Secretary and Vice Chairman says "I am delighted that 37th Kingswood have elected to compete on the BYBA circuit for the 2007 season, and they will be warmly received not only by the association hierarchy, but also by the members and supporters themselves. On behalf of the entire BYBA council, and I am sure the members themselves, I would like to welcome 37th Kingswood and hope that their stay with us is a happy and enjoyable one."
