Venue DCUK Avon Alive show changed
Drum Corps United Kingdom has to advise that the venue for the upcoming Avon Alive Show scheduled for this coming Sunday (10th June) has had to relocate to an alternative venue. This move was necessary due to operational reasons with our original stadium in Bath.
"It is regrettable that we have had to relocate to another venue at such short notice however there was very little that DCUK could do bearing in mind the stadiums difficulty in staging our event", writes DCUK in a press release. "We are pleased to advise however that the first show of the season has not been under any threat of cancellation and an alternative stadium of equal if not greater stature in terms of audience amenities and corps facilities has been secured."
The new venue in Cheltenham provides for 500 spectators in a covered all seater stand, ample parking facilities and the added bonus of facilitating pre show rehearsal opportunities for the competing corps on the morning of the show itself. The first DCUK summer season show featuring the The Staffordshire Knights, Concord, The Senators, Kidsgrove Scouts and the reigning DCUK champions The Black Knights will now be held at The Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham.
For all but a few travelling times and distances from home to Cheltenham will remain consistent with travelling to Bath and DCUK can assure all who will be attending that you will be treated to a great afternoons entertainment as the Drum Corps United Kingdom 2007 season gets underway.
The first show of the season starts with the first corps taking the field at 1.30 PM and with the added attraction of the corps being on site during the morning it will add to the atmosphere and expectation as showtime approaches.
