DCN is getting rid of the A-Class
Drum Corps Netherlands bids farewell to the A-Class. Starting from next season, corps can participate in the Premier Class, Percussion Class or Junior Class. An exhibition show is still possible for new or rebuilding corps.
The A-Class was created five years ago as a special class for beginners corps or corps wanting to get to grips with the judging system. It has not progressed as well as was expected. Moreover, new participants often choose to go directly into the Premier Class. As a consequence the Premier Class, unlike the A-Class, has grown.
"We hope to welcome the regular participants of this class into the Premier Class, so that it becomes even larger and more diverse", says DCN chairman Kees Bourquin. The Percussion Class will remain, but DCN has announced that they will be monitoring whether this class attracts the required number of participants.
