Drum corps is back in Rhode Island
A new drum & bugle corps has been formed in Rhode Island. Northern Light Drum & Bugle Corps want to become the finest junior corps ever produced in the state of Rhode Island by emplying the finest instructional staff to educate the brightest high school and college-aged musicians in the New England area.
During the last century Rhode Island was home to more than 80 drum & bugle corps. All of those 80 corps have disbanded, until now. Northern Light is the newest, and only, junior drum & bugle corps in over 25 years. Northern Light is part of the Rhode Island Youth Arts Association is proud to bring you the Northern Light Drum & Bugle Corps.
Auditions for the 2006 Northern Light will be held January 20th-22nd, 2006 at the Dr. Irving Calcutt Middle School in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Membership and Audition information can be found on their website www.riyaa.org/northernlight. (Source: drumbeatnews.com)
