After one hundred years of music and evolution, the Mosson Marching Band goes back to its origins. The corps was born in 1910 as a brass band, with brass and percussion instruments. It then changed into a traditional band and in recent years it took the shape of a marching band. As of now, the corps will continue as a drum & bugle corps.
The wave of change had already begun during the summer of 2010, when some woodwind section players decided to try and play a brass instrument. Only one year later, Mosson already took part at the DCE European Championships. At that time still under the name of a marching band, but that now also has changed.
Mosson Drum & Bugle Corps also unveiled a new logo: a stylized M with a central dot inserted in the first part of the letter. This symbol appeared in the hats of the brass band of 1910 but it had been forgotten. It has now been taken up again and renewed to underline the strong bond between the new generations and Mosson's origins.
