Concord celebrates 30th anniversary

2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the formation of Concord, Sheffield, UK. To celebrate on Saturday the 11th of October 2014 the alumni/members are hosting a celebration evening at the first class 'Inox Dine' at the University of Sheffield.


DCN competition managed by DCE

The Drum Corps Netherlands competition will be managed by DCE. In consultation between the managements of both organisations, DCE has decided to take over the responsibility of the Dutch drum corps organisation. This organisational change will not have impact on the contests or the corps.


DCN announces its list of participants for 2014

Drum Corps Netherlands will have a well-filled line-up this season. The Dutch drum corps organisation is welcoming sixteen corps to the 2014 competition.


DCUK announces member corps in 2014

Mosson opts out of DCE Championships

Mosson Drum & Bugle Corps has unfortunately opted out of the DCE European Championships. The Italian corps announced that, due to internal problems, it has been forced to make this painful decision.


Jubal wins Marching Class European WGI Percussion Regional

Jubal Indoor Percussion won the Independent Marching Open Class at the European contest of Winter Guard International last Saturday. The corps from Dordrecht surpassed DrumSpirit, who were strongest in the Prelims.


No drum corps contest in Ludwigshafen

Despite many hosting preparations that have been made by the Heartliner to set up a contest, only Millennium Drum & Bugle Corps from Italy showed interest. So due to lack of interest of corps, Heartliner regret to announce the cancellation of the drum corps show in Ludwigshafen 2014.


New drum major for Juliana: Shana Beernaert

Mayflower beats Dutch competition at WGI Regional

Mayflower from Billericay in England won the Independent Open Class of the Dutch WGI Regional Saturday. In Almere - The Netherlands, the guard beat The Pride by almost two points. 


Paul Rennick in judges panel at Scandinavian IPE regional

This weekend, Paul Rennick from Santa Clara Vanguard will join the IPE judges panel at the Scandinavian IPE percussion regional. This Saturday, nine percussion units from Sweden and Denmark will enter the competition floor.


Kidsgrove Scouts return to DCA in 2015

The Kidsgrove Scouts will be returning to Drum Corps Associates in 2015. The corps will compete in regionals and the DCA Finals in Rochester - New York. It will be their third tour since 2010.

Percussion and winter guard going strong in Ireland

The IMBA Winterguard and Indoor Percussion Championships were held in the National basketball arena in Tallaght last Saturday. There were seven participants in all catagories, and all entrants are affiliated to IMBA bands that compete on the DCE circuit.

Drum Corps International will allow any brass instrument in the competition, even those not traditionally considered to be of the 'bell-front' variety as stipulated in the DCI rulebook. The proposal passed overwhelmingly by the voting membership at the DCI Winter Business Meetings last weekend.


CEO of Field Band Foundation Retha Cilliers has passed away

The Executive Director of the South African Field Band Foundation, Retha Cilliers, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 57. She was the driving force behind the organisation that tries to give disadvantaged young people from show bands a chance at a better life.


Nine nationalities in European indoor percussion competition

Sequel of ‘Drumline’ movie in the making

IPE European Championships in Wevelgem this year

Kidsgrove Scouts top Open Class at the first WGUK show

Kidsgrove Scouts Senior Winterguard finished in first place in the Open Class at the first WGUK winter guard show of the season last Sunday with their programme entitled 'Titanium'. The guard achieved a score of 78.20.

IPE cancels Irish and French contests

DCE judging team at the Championships in Indonesia

At the end of December, the judging team of Drum Corps Europe judged the Championships in Indonesia. Five European and five Asian DCE judges judged the 22 participants in the Grand Prix Marching Band competition. DCE also held a well-attended clinic for the groups.
