RealPercussive: Your own drumline at home
Ramon Opmeer and Myriad introduce realPercussive, a music score application with real life battery sounds. The application is based on the existing Myriad Harmony assistant. Opmeer, percussion caption head of Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps and InCorps tenor clinician, has made some changes to the application to increases the ease of use.
The most important change: the battery sounds. "No iron sounds or strange gongs and bells, but a real drumline which plays your arrangement", Opmeer said. He used his experience as a caption head to create realPercussive. "I used to write everything by hand. That was a disadvantage, because I could not hear the results untill the battery played it. In my search for a music score application, I discovered Myriad's Harmony Assistant. I am a computer engineer and while working with the software, I discovered some possibilities."
The cooperation between the French company and Opmeer resulted in an application that is easy to use, and gives the arranger the desired result. With realPercussive, Opmeer focuses on the European market. It has been created for use by drum & bugle corps, and corps style arrangers. However, the application has possibilities for marching bands and traditional orchestras as well. For further information, please visit www.realpercussive.com.
