Drum Corps World article about DCE in Mayalysia
In the framework of the Licensed Partner agreement between Drum Corps Europe and World Band Competition in Malaysia, a three-day Judges College was been held in Kuala Lumpur in early June. Drum Corps World has published an in-depth article about the joint venture between Europe and Asia.

"Thirteen candidates from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand were present for the course that was instructed by Bob Thomas, Director of Education for DCE and a current DCI judge.
The reason for organizing this Judges College was to improve the system for judging drum and bugle corps and marching bands in competition. Until now, every country had their own criteria and systems, developed over time with many restrictions and no clear training for judges.
Although the knowledge of the Asian judges regarding music and visual aspects was very high, specific training in applying good and fair standards was lacking.
Last year, Drum Corps Europe was approached by World Band Competition with a request for support and knowledge-sharing on many issues arising during that organization's recent contests. This approach has led to the signing of a Licensed Partner Agreement between the two organizations and the Judges College is only one item of the aspect of things to implement."
