DCI honours Bill Cook with reports and flashbacks
The passing of Bill Cook; businessman, philanthropist, and founder of Star of Indiana, is â??â??a huge shock for the drum corps community. Cook passed away Friday, 18th April at the age of 80. Drum Corps International has brought out various reports and flashbacks about Cook.
The richest man in the state of Indiana, with an estimated fortune of 3.1 billion US dollars, was known for his generous donations. Not only in the drum corps world, but also in other areas. The past week saw many contributions on www.dci.org, in which Bill Cook took centre stage. The series ended on Friday with a final video item.
The fact that Bill Cook was the founder Star of Indiana is well known. But he also gave financial support to Drum Corps International and other corps. In addition, he contributed to television broadcasts on PBS.
