Tallaght Youth Band tops first IMBA contest
Yesterday, the Tallaght Youth Band won the Premier Class during the first contest of the Irish Marching Band Association in Tallaght (43.00). In the Junior Class, Ravens Marching Showband took top honours (53.90).
This year, the Irish Marching Band Association has become a Certified Partner of Drum Corps Europe, which means that all shows are based on the DCE Competition Manual and include a DCE certified judging panel with judges from Ireland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany.
In the Premier Class, Clondalkin Youth Band came in second (42.75), folowed by Mullingar Town Band (42.15), Tallaght Festival Band (37.60) and Inbhear Mór Marchers (36.95). Tallaght Youth Band Cadets took second place in the Junior Class (40.70). All scores and recaps can be found on the IMBA website: www.irishmarchingbands.org.
On Saturday, Jubal won the second Drum Corps Netherlands contest in Huizen. Juliana and Beatrix ended in second and third place respectively.
