Senators perform at the Northern College of Music
This weekend the Senators travelled to the far north of the UK to take part in a clinic in Preston for local corps and schools on Saturday Night and a clinic and performance at the prestigious 'Day of Percussion' at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on Sunday.
The Senators Indoor Percussion Ensemble consists of percussionists and guard members from the Senators Drum and Bugle corps. In the hour clinics, John McNamara and Lee Nelson talked through battery, pit and guard techniques and warm-ups before the ensemble performed its 2005 production 'The Devil went down to Eastleigh'.
The performances were received extremely well by both audiences, and there was much interest in the activity from members of the public who hadn't had exposure to it before. The Senators website will be providing a full report, photographs and member weblogs within the next few days.
The Senators Indoor Percussion ensemble will be performing at the WGI regional at Burgess Hill on Saturday 19th February 2005.
