Euro WG Championships becomes UK Regional
WGUK have been contacted by Starriders from Germany to advise that due to the current economic situation they have had to withdraw from the European event in Stoke on Saturday 21st February and so with there now being no mainland Europe representation the WGUK Board have decided to reduce the length of day and hold a Mid-Season UK Regional.
The contest will now be run in a very similar way to a normal season contest and will be scheduled to start at 12 noon and conclude at around 5.30pm. However, in consultation with William Chumley the WGUK Judges Director of Education, it is proposed to utilise as many judges as possible on this day which could mean some or all captions being judged by more than one judge and the scores in that caption being averaged to still give a total score for each unit out of 100.
As well as giving the units more input and comments this will also help the judges in their continued training as part of 'WGUK Judging - The Way Forward' which was started in the middle of last year to not only increase the number of judges but to also enhance the training.
Full details of the event will be emailed out to all units shortly and also made available on the WGUK website.
