Skyliners will not field a corps
The New York Skyliners have announced that they will not field a competitive DCA corps this summer. The New York Skyliners Mini-Corps will compete again in Rochester at the 2008 DCA Championships.
"While this is a decision no Director ever likes to make, I am nonetheless excited about the progress the current administration has made in building a sound foundation for the future of the New York Skyliners organisation", remarked Harry T. Eldridge, Executive Director. "We have worked on fixing the fundamental structure of the corps, and developed an Administration that works collaboratively and exhaustively." The Skyliners plan to expand the administrative body to support fundraising, grant writing and recruitment efforts.
"Equally exciting is the fact that the current administration, designers and instructors have committed to remain with the New York Skyliners as we continue our journey towards building a robust organisation that can better meet the needs of today's competitive drum corps", said Eldridge. In addition to adding to the administrative team, the New York Skyliners will further build their 2009 instructional staff with the best talent available.
