Renowned brass clinician joins BYBA Festival team

The world renowned brass clinician Clay Wachholz will be working with the One Big Brass Class throughout the BYBA Festival of Fun and Music. He will also be providing a brass clinic for all wind players that attend the event. The festival will take place from March 30th - April 6th. Furthermore, Clay will be available throughout the week for one to one consultations with performers, instructors, and directors on any issues relating to how to improve the standard of their own or their groups brass performance.

Clayton Wachholz is respected the world over for his dedication to music education, specifically in the area of marching bands. He has been involved in the drum and bugle corps activity as a performer and teacher for 26 years. As a baritone player he marched with the Thunderbolts (1979), Pioneer (1980-1984), and Madison Scouts (1985-1989).
 
Clay went on to teach the Madison Scouts brass section from 1991 to 1997. In 1998 he spent three years with the Capital Sound only to return to the Madison Scouts full time in 2001. Today, Clay is currently a teacher on the brass staff of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
 
Having degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (BA) and the University of Michigan (MM), Clay remains an active clinician, and has given clinics on brass performance in England, Japan, Brazil and Argentina.  He is currently the Director of Bands at the International School of Brussels, Belgium where he resides with his wife Raquel and two year old son Nicolas.
