Buccaneers capture sixth DCA Championship
The Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps finished its 2006 competitive season where it began it â?? as undefeated world champions. The Buccaneers bested twenty-four other competing units at the 42nd annual Drum Corps Associates World Championships, held this weekend at Paetec Park in Rochester - New York. The Bucs
placed first in the preliminary round of competition on Saturday,
ensuring the corps' top seeding for Sunday's Championship Finals. The
win extends the Buccaneers' consecutive win streak to nineteen over two
seasons. The Buccaneers finished first in Open Class competition with a
score of 97.238, and also won awards for best visual effect and best
percussion.
Finishing in second place were the host Empire Statesmen. The
Bushwackers from from Harrison - New Jersey placed 3rd. The Govenaires
won the DCA A Class Finals.
