Independent survey about British drum corps future
Drum Corps United Kingdom have been approached to help in an independent survey entitled 'Safeguarding the Future of Drum Corps in Great Britain'. The survey is being undertaken by Ian Scaife.
DCUK are pleased to be able assist in the distribution of this paper which is not just aimed at personnel directly involved with a Corps but any person who has in interest in the activity.
"When you consider the growth of drum corps from the late 1970s to its peak in the mid 1980s and through its gradual decline since,", Ian Scaife said. "It stands to reason that, without a strategy, we cannot simply take for granted the long-term survival of the activity."
He subsequently put himself forward to undertake a comprehensive survey to compile the thoughts of those who matter, with a view to subsequently presenting his findings. Drum corps fans are asked to return the questionnaire by July 1st. The results will be presented to DCUK.
