Fantasia and James Logan HS win WGI World Class
Fantasia won its fourth WGI World Class title (and the fourth in consecutive alternating years) and James Logan HS won its ninth consecutive title at the WGI World Championships Saturday night in the University of Dayton Arena.
Fantasia (97.9) won the Movement, Ensemble and Effect captions in the Independent World Class for 'Lullaby and Goodnight', soft and comfy as a feather down comforter. The show would have been at home in a remake of the Disney movie by the same name as the guard. Gentle tumbling on mattresses and a sense of total relaxation made the show akin to a dream walking straight out of one's collective neurons. Pride of Cincinnati (96.55) won the Equipment caption on its way to the silver medal.
In Scholastic World finals, James Logan HS (96.85) took the Movement, Ensemble and Effect captions in the Scholastic World Class for its 'Spirite de Altimira', inspired by a pre-historic cave drawing found in. Evocative of primal rituals, voices from the past created a haunting and ethereal sense that ultimately swallowed up everyone into the chasm of history.
