DCF General Assembly: new corps welcomed
On Saturday, November 7th, the Federation for Drum Corps and Marching Bands of France (DCF) held its annual General Assembly. Delegations of corps from Pas de Calais, Nord, Aisne, Ariège, Loiret, Indre et Loire, Moselle and Val d'Oise gathered for a long day of discussions on topics.
DCF Chairman Nicolas Dufor's term expired this year and Gaël Grébic of Edelweiss, Tours was nominated to replace him. Sandy Sueur of Showband USA, Lille was elected Secretary, Xavier Bernard as Treasurer, Sébastien Auger was appointed in the new position of Projects Manager, and Thierry Plume of Belgium was retained as Executive Director.
The delegates were all too happy to welcome new corps to DCF, including the Blue Lions (Lille), Blue Angels (Roubaix) and Marching Band Quercytain (Le Quesnoy). There are also a number of corps on the horizon that intend to pursue membership, ensuring that DCF will not only be growing in 2005 but in years to come as well.
The DCF General Assembly voted to open its membership to corps from French-speaking countries as well as corps with French-speaking members, as a way to include corps from Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. These corps will also be allowed integration with the DCF Board of Directors.
